And burial of Mrs. Alice Ward Hustead Was At Millport Saturday

The body of Mrs. Alice Ward Hustead, who was 74 years old, was shipped from San Antonio, Texas, Arriving in Baring at 11 o'clock Friday night. It was taken to the Seeger Funeral Home in Knox City where funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon.

As Miss Alice Emily Ward, Mrs Hustead was born June 2, 1873, in Knox County. She was a daughter of David C. and Almira Linkenfelter Ward and parent and a brother and two sisters preceeded her in death. She was married to Elmer Hustead and to them was born one son, Ray, who died in 1928. Mrs Hustead had united with the Methodist Church early in life.

Death came Dec. 16 at the M. and F. Hosptial in San Antonio, Texas, where she had made her home for a number of years.

Mrs Hustead was a long time resident of the Brushy school district near Colony, but had lived away in late years. She had lived for many years in Stettler, Alta., Canada, but sold her ranch there a few years ago, came back to Missouri and bought the Sam and Ike Carney farm near Colony. She went to Little Rock, Ark., and then to Texas but had been in California for some time.

Burial was at Millport, in the family lot beside the grave of her son, Ray Hustead who died nineteen years ago. Her nearest living relative is Mrs Brainard Logan, a niece, who was Miss Lodine Hilbert and who with Mr. Logan and their two sons, Gerals Ray and J. T., were first called here from Lawrence, Kan., to attend the funeral of Mr. Logan's brother, Harry Logan, last Thursdy afternoon, and then that of Mrs. Logan's aunt on Saturday afternoon.

The Rev. Charles W. Kimbrell of Edina conducted the funeral services. The singers were Mrs. Arthur Seegar and Mrs. Karl Schempp with Mrs. Mike Matticks at the piano.
