Hoy David Calhoun, 73, 101 Harvey St., died Tuesday, June 7, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Somerset on March 1, 1915, the son of the late Jerry and Isabelle Garland Calhoun. He was a retired employee of the RECC and a member of the Old Fashion Faith Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Pearlie Meeks Calhoun, whom he married on April 3, 1942, in Somerset; a son, James David Calhoun, Parkers Lake; three daughters, Juanita Barton, Geneva Casada and Josephine Trimble, all of Somerset; five sisters, Maude Eads Black, Somerset, Audie Burton, Nancy, Adnie Burton, Henryville, Indiana, Ottie King, Monroe, Illinois, and Vidie Rainwater, Cincinnati, Ohio; and six grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Perry Calhoun.

Services were held at 1 p.m. today at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company with the Revs. Alonzo Mitchell and Clifford Huddleston officaiting.

Burial was in the Somerset Cemetery.
