Doris M. McKay, 74, of 646 Wilson St., Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, at her residence. She was born Dec. 6, 1919, in the town of Lafayette, Chippewa County, the daughter of Benjamin and Laura (LaFaive) Haley. She married Reginald McKay on June 29, 1938, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cadott. She had worked for the Northern Wisconsin Center for the Developmentally Disabled. She was a member of the Catholic Women's Club, the P.C.C.W. of Notre Dame, the Fun Club of Chippewa Falls and Notre Dame Church.
She is survived by one son, Robert M. (Jean) McKay, of Eau Claire; two daughters, Marilyn Amundson, of Jackson, Miss., and Sue Elstran of Chippewa Falls; two brothers, Harley P. (Rosemary) Haley of Chippewa Falls and Kenneth J. Haley of Racine; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 14, 1985; her parents; three brothers, Valentine J., Lyman V. and Robert E. Haley; and one sister, Beatrice M. Bakeman.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Gilles as celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. The P.C.C.W. of Notre Dame will recite the rosary at 4 p.m., and there will be a Christian vigil service at 7 p.m. at the Horan Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Chippewa Valley Cultural Association or the Chippewa Falls Library.
