"...educated in the local schools and at Traysylvania University, Lexington, Kentucky; was an employee of the Commercial Banks of Grayson for several years and became familiar with the banking business. A great reader and student, she studied law and medicine-not with any intention of engaging in practice-and then entered the field of literature. She has written much poetry and some poems were published in the "Voice of Freedom" and "Voice of America". Recently she has had published a volume which has received favorable reviews by critics of lyric poetry, particularily the poem "The Convoy" and "Sunset over Italy"." from Kozee's book of Eastern and Southeastern Kentucky.

She was married to Henderson Richard Dysard who was mayor of Ashland from 1917-1921. He was at one time Judge of Carter COunty at Grayson where his law office was located.
