Margaret worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Co. in Battle Creek as an operator, supervisor and head operator from 1929 through 1945. During WWII, she handled many long distance calls to Fort Custer and had the pleasure of speaking with a number of the Army's top generals.
Margaret and Lynn adopted two children: Linda Jo Hollingshead and John Patrick Hollinghead. She died of a massive stroke at home where she was being cared for by her daughter and grandson.
