Rev. Dr. Charles Edward Bagwell, 81, Clarksville, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center.

The funeral will be held at 12 noon Saturday at Edgefield Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. C. E. Timberlake, Eulogist and Rev. Dr. A. T. Griffey Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in Edgefield Benevolent Lodge #1 Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Foston Funeral Home. A Celebration Service will be held 6 pm to 8 pm Friday at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church 801 E. 4th Street Hopkinsville, Ky. with family present. Foston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born January 13, 1928 in Clarksville, TN. The son of James Bagwell, Sr., and Otha Mae Northington Bagwell. The husband of Emma P. Betty Barton Bagwell.

He was a member of Edgefield Missionary Baptist Church and was Former Pastor of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, Ky. A veteran of the United States Army, and a member of Burt High School Class of 1947.

Survivors include his wife Emma P. Betty Barton Bagwell, Clarksville, TN., daughter, Elizabeth Bernice Bagwell Whiting, grandson, Robert Charles Maxey, both of Friendswood, TX. sister, Ruthie B. Osborne, brothers, Elmer L. (Marva) Bagwell, Raymond (Virginia) Bagwell, Michael D. Bagwell, sister-in-law, Jeanette Bagwell, all of Clarksville, aunt, Ada Majors, Ashland City, TN.
