Lucille Olive Moore, 89, of Eleva, died Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.
She was born September 24, 1923, on the family farm in the town of Pleasant Valley in Eau Claire County, daughter of Austin and Thea Mari (Halvorson) Miland. On October 12, 1946, Lucille married Palmer Sterry who died December 21, 1974. She later married Earl Moore who passed away July 4, 1985. Lucille was a homemaker and farmed with her husbands in the Eleva area.
Lucille was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Norden and active in the ladies groups. She also volunteered for the Eleva Senior Center. Lucille was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved animals and enjoyed playing cards, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandsons both fishing and watching them play sports. Lucille was known for her infectious smile and sense of humor.
She is survived by two children; her son, Duane (Marlys) Sterry of Eleva; and daughter, Anita (Doyle) Severson of Fall Creek, WI; grandsons, Bill Sterry (Kari Jo) of Strum, Rick Sterry (Talia), Brad Sterry (Angie), Trent Sterry (Mallory) all of Eleva; great-grandson, Riley Sterry; brother, Allan (Wilma) Miland of Wisconsin Rapids; brother-in-law, Albin Sterry of Osseo; three sisters-in-law, Florence Sterry of Stillwater, MN, Gladys Sterry of Milwaukee, Doris Sterry of Minneapolis, MN; special neighbor, Mae Benedict of Eleva; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Lucille is preceded in death by her husbands, Palmer Sterry and Earl Moore; parents; 11 brothers and sisters and their spouses; and a special friend of many years, Clayton Wenaas.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at 12:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Norden in rural Mondovi, WI with the Rev. David Bangert officiating. Burial will be at the Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Church.
