Mrs. Dickinson Died in 79th Year
Mrs. Gideon A. Dickinson passed away Friday afternoon a the home of her son, Lee E. Dickinson, where she has resided most of the past year. She had been as well as usual until a few minutes before she died.
Jennie Lynn Montague was born at London, Canada, on July 10, 1849. On September 15, 1865, she was united in marriage with G. A. Dickinson at Caro.
Mrs. Dickinson came to Caro when eight years old and lived there until some time after her marriage. For a time they lived at Charlevoix and a short time in the West. Mr. and Mrs. Dickinson came to Cass City in 1900 and settled on the Brown farm, south and west of Cass City, and she has lived in or near Cass City since that time.
Mr. Dickinson died Nov. 7, 1922, a daughter died in infancy and a son, Joseph, died March 21, 1899. There are left to mourn their loss, four sons and one daughter, C. G. Dickinson of Fairgrove, William C. of Everett, Washington, John of Bad Axe, and L. E. Dickinson and Mrs. Earl Kehoe of Cass City.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the L. E. Dickinson home. Rev. J. P. Allured officiated. Burial was in the Almer cemetery. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mrs. Sarah Kinde, John Kinde, and Mrs. Anna Marks, of Kinde; Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Dickinson and daughter, Miss Wilma, of Fairgrove; Mr. and Mrs. John Dickinson and son Jack of Bad Axe; Mr. and Mrs. William Montague, Mrs. William Currey, Mrs. Ella Bates, Mrs. George Klein, James and Sam Montague, Clyde Montague and mother, all of Caro; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Beach, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Butler of Gagetown; Mrs. Harold McNinch and two children and Miss Zelma Kehoe of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. George Bergen of Flint, and Miss Thelma Kehoe of Port Huron.
