George Eugene Lowry, 75, of Chillicothe, died 10:27 pm, February 10, 2013, at his home, following an extended illness.

He was born August 14, 1937 in Ross Co. to the late William and Hazel Colburn Lowry. On January 14, 1956 he married Gypsy Lee Bush, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Jody (Robert Stewart) Edwards, Dwain (Pamela) Lowry and Onda Lowry, all of Chillicothe; seven grandchildren, J. B. and Janna Edwards, Heidi (Chris) Steinbrook, Whitney (Adam) Skaggs, Michelle (Mike) Collins, Amie (Robert) Lindsey and Jeremiah (Mandy) Zeisler; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ernest (Norma) Lowery, Charles (Patty) and Carl (Vickie) Lowry; sisters, Ada Bowles, Norma Scott, Bertha Alexander, and Peggy Bailey. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and William Lowry; three sisters, Virginia Posey, Emma Jean Chaffin, and Ruth Miller; a son-in-law, James Edwards; and his mother and father-in-law, Delbert and Deloris Bush.

Mr. Lowry retired from Chilpaco as a machine operator after 41 years. He was a former member of the Belles and Beaus Square Dance Club and is a member of the Adena Road Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday at the Haller Funeral Home, Pastor Seth Tinkler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Thursday at Haller's.
