Jerry Talbot, 80 of Baxter Springs, KS passed from this life at 12:19 p.m., on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg, KS.
Jerry was born February 24, 1932 at Baxter Springs, KS, the son of James Earl and Lucille (Sansocie) Talbot.
He graduated from Baxter Springs High School in 1950 and served a short time in the United States Army as a Postal Worker.
Following his time in the Army, he met the love of his life, Shirley Marsh and they were united in marriage July 5, 1958.
He was employed by B.F. Goodrich Tire Company for thirty years before retiring in 1986.
During his retirement Jerry was employed as a Wal-Mart greater in Webb City for five years.
He enjoyed socializing with others and taking long walks.
He was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church in Baxter Springs until his health declined.
Jerry is survived by his wife Shirley Talbot; three sons Michael Talbot and wife Martha of Coffeyville, KS, Brian Talbot and wife Janet of Joplin, MO, and Larry Talbot and wife Sylvia of Baxter Springs, KS; one brother Jimmy Talbot of Yuma, AZ; five grandchildren and one great grandson.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2013 (sic) at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel. Pastor Gary Thiessen will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Baxter Springs Cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Jerry Talbot, 80, a retired B.F. Goodrich Tire Company employee. He was also a United States Army Veteran. Serving at Fort Sill, Okla. He was promoted from this life Monday, February 11, 2013.
Services were at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 (sic) at Derfelt Baxter Chapel. Officiating was Pastor Gary Thiessen.
Pall bearers were Danny Himes, Steve Baldwin, Brian Hatfield, Randy Baldwin. Military rites was conducted by VFW Post #147, Miami, Okla. Burial was at Baxter Springs cemetery.
