Joe White was the second child, first son born to Ethel Mae Crumpton & Joseph Miles White on their cotton farm in Jackson Co. Texas. The family soon moved to the Houston area where Joe spent the majority of his young life, working construction with his father and brothers. At the age of 20 he married his highschool crush, Helen Dixson and they had 3 daughters together; Judy, Sue and Karen. During WWII he was trained as a navagator and flew many missions from his station in Italy. They raised their family in South Houston where Joe was actively envolved in city politics, building Faith Methodist Church, managing Golden Triangle Lumber Yard, and continued to enjoy promotions (Lt Col) in the Air Force Reserves. He and Helen later retired to Central Texas where they again spent time building churches and leading many people to The Lord. They were married 71 years when Joe went home to be with God who had given him life. He was survived by his wife, Helen, daughters Judy Standridge, Sue Bennett & Karen Hammel, 8 grandchildren, and 17 greatgrandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, sister, Evelyn Steinke, brother Norton White and grand-daughter, Stacy Standridge.
He was the sweetest man I ever knew, (till I met my husband). He was my Dad.
