He was born in Shamrock, Okla., to Payton and Grace Kelly Hurt. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in Hawaii and southern France and was wounded in the Philippines with Gen. MacArthur's invasion forces and was awarded the Purple Heart, Asiatic Pacific Medal with one Bronze Battle Star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and Lapel Button. He was retired from Simmon's Industries in 1999 after 40 years of employment. He married Marie Marshall, on May 17, 1952.

He was 83 when he passed away at his home in Colcord, OK. I have a complete copy of his obit.
