The son of Eddie Miles & Cora Marie (Strait) Ackley, he married Mattie Lucille Fuson on April 17, 1958.
GUYMON, OK --Eddie Max Ackley, 70, died Friday, June 16, 2000.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Chaffin officiation. Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home.
Mr. Ackley was born near Jet. Since 1952, he worked as a custom harvester in Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska. During the winter months, he drove a cattle truck. He served with the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion and Custom Harvesters Association.
He married Mattie Lucille Fuson in 1958 at Oklahoma City.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rita Kay Hill; a son, Eddie Jay Ackley; two sisters, Leona Rhodes of Jet and Idalee Scott of Enid; and six grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials be to Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center; or the American Cancer Society. Memorials may be mailed to Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
