He was the son of Glen and Elsie (Polhamus) Knouff. He married twice and survived both wives. In Sep 1939, he married Clara Toland, and in Sep 1973, he married Doris (Cook) Bumgardner.
Surviving are a son, John Philip (Linda), Sidney; a daughter, Joyce (Carl) Newbold-Bradley, Sidney; two brothers: James, Sidney, and Don, Piqua; a grandson, Kevin Newbold, Crescent Springs, KY; three great-grandchildren: Matthew (Ann0 Abbott, Sidney, Erica (Steve) Martin, TX, and Danielle (Allan) Lovett, Greenville; and five great-great-grandchildren: Rylan Abbott, Rozlyn Abbott, Abby Martin, Kimberlyn Martin and Damien Martin.
Deceased are a grandson, Brent John Knouff; three brothers; and a sister.
He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Sidney. He worked as a machinist for 44 years and was retired from Monarch Machine Tool. He was also a life-long dairy farmer. He loved sports, and especially liked watching Ohio State, Dayton Flyers and the Cincinnati Reds. He enjoyed bowling in the Bel-Mar Senior Bowling League, playing cards with friends and fellow members of the Senior Center, and pretty much anything to do with farming. He was a devoted father and grandfather, and loved spending time with his family and attending the grandchildrens various sporting events.
Funeral Services will be at the Cromes Funeral Home, with Rev. Chad Wilson officiating.
