Born in Montgomery, AL, a son of Charles & Mamie Hopper, he married Helen Baker Dec. 26, 1940. He was a graduate of Auburn University & a member of the Rotary, Optimist, & Kiwanis Clubs. He served in World War II under Gen. George S. Patton & received the Bronze Star & served 31 years as a major in the National Guard. Surviving are his wife; a son, John David Kelso of Kingswood; 2 grandchildren, Courtney & Kyle Kelso, 2 brothers, John M. Kelso of Orange, CA & Robert B. Kelso of Montgomery, Al; a sister, Jessie Kelso of Montgomery, AL.
