In his retirement he drove his elderly neighbors to appointments, grocery shopping, anyplace they needed to go. He was a history buff, enjoyed dancing and listening to polka music, old cars, going to the Iola Car Show and the Steam and Engine Show in Edgar. Everett enjoyed traveling and going to the casino.
