Nettie Mae Williams was born to the late Little Ida Miller and the late Jimmy Lee Williams on February 29, 1940 in Oakhurst Texas.

Nettie attended public school in Oakhurst and following graduation she began her studies at Sam Houston State University, where she graduated from their nursing school program.

Nettie following her confession for her love for Christ, she was baptized at Pine Valley Baptist Church. Upon moving to Huntsville, Texas, she joined Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church in 1995, under the leadership of Rev. Michael C. Davis, Sr., where she served until her health began to fail.

Nettie met and married Turner Wright. To their union, 7 children was born. She was preceded by her husband and daugther Urma Jean Wright. Nettie later married Anthony Kirkwood.

Nettie leaves to cherish daughters: Willie Jean Harrison (Earl Reece), of Huntsville, TX, Joyce Thirdgood (Jesse), of Point Blank, TX and Alice Larry (Ivory); of Huntsville, TX; sons Melvin Wright (Arleda); of Houston, TX., Jimmy Wright, of Point Blank, TX, and Turner Wright, Jr. (Lyndell), of Houston, TX; grandchildren: Tiffany, Jay, Troy Jr., Brittany, Latasha, Brianna, Leslie, Jasmine, Taylor, D.J., Reagen, Stephanie (Terrance), and Paul, great-grandchildren; Jaden and Lavender, brother: Shelby Williams (Jennifer); of Beaumont, TX., sisters: Ann Leonard; of Beaumont, TX and Bennie Mae White; of Point Blank, TX., favorite sister-in-law: Genell Brooks and god-daughers: Sharon Travis Jones and Angel Sykes, a host of nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends.
