Theodore J. Ellsberry, a former mayor of Grand Island, died Saturday evening at the Masonic Home, Plattsmouth (Nebraska), where he had lived since May of 1946.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Geddes funeral home and burial will be in Grand Island cemetery. The body will arrive late this evening.

Mr. Ellsberry was born at Cincinnati, Ohio, on Oct. 7, 1967, to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ellsberry. He is survived by one adopted daughter, Mrs. A. P. Hansen, San Diego, Calif., and two brothers, George, and Henry Ellsberry, both of Louisville, Colo.

Mr. Ellsberry was mayor here from 1922 to 1926 and he was construction foremen for the city water department from 1925 to 1940. He also worked for the Union Pacific railroad as a switchman for a time and did some farming.

He was a member of the Deull chapter Royal Arch Masons of Grand Island, Ashlar Lodge No. 33 A.F.A.M. Grand Island and the Tehama Shrine of Hastings.
