Obituary in The Shreveport Times February 20, 2005:

BIENVILLE PARISH - Funeral services for Cecil Alexander, 82, will be held Monday, February 21, 2005 at Rose-Neath Minden Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Johnny Adkins, assisted by Bro. Roy Southern. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery in Dubberly LA. Pallbearers will be Neal Frazier, Randal Wallace, Carl Rhodes, Keith Rhodes, Jerry Bates, and Mike Eskew. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Bates, Brian Lindberg, Raymond Wallace, Grover Arthur, Josh Matheny, and Tom Reagan.

Mr. Alexander was born in Fryeburg LA, was a resident of Bienville Parish for the past 14 years, and passed away in Shreveport February 19, 2005. He was a retired Boiler Fireman with LAAP. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church but had attended Fryeburg Baptist Church for the past 14 years. He was a member of Minden Masonic Lodge and enjoyed playing and listening to Bluegrass music. He had also worked in the oilfield for many years.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Wallace Alexander; mother and father, Lola and David Alexander; infant grandson, Jeremy Todd Alexander; and four brothers, Milton, Bob, Donald, and Gordon Alexander.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Alexander of Fryeburg; one son, Terry Alexander (wife Judy) of Dubberly; grandson, Casey Alexander of Dubberly; two step-daughters, Rita Bates (husband Jerry) of Fryeburg and Grace Eskew (husband Mike) of Fryeburg; two step-sons, Carl Rhodes of Fryeburg and Keith Rhodes (wife Anita) of Sibley; one sister, Betty Martin (husband Ralph) of Longview TX; two brothers, Marion Alexander (wife Ella) of Haughton and Tom Alexander of Jacksonville TX; eight step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
