Givens L. Adams was born June 24, 1935, in Wellington, MO, and died November 5, 2002. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Political Science. He went to the University of Oklahoma where he received a degree in law in 1963. He worked most of his life in Federal Government, employed as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for 11 years. Mr. Adams won many outstanding awards while in this position. He worked for FDIC, Small Business Administration, and was the Clerk for Federal Judge L. Eubanks. He also worked in various law firms and retired from the Oklahoma Tax Commission. Mr. Adams was a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, OK, for 40 years. He served as Deacon and taught Sunday school in the youth department. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Virginia ("his beloved Ginny") Adams; son, John Givens Adams; daughters, Karen Lea and Kristi Kay; sister, Dora Jane Borgstadt, Independence, MO; nieces, Sharon Schubert and Patricia Elliot; 3 great-nephews, one great-niece. A graveside service will be held Monday, November 11, at 2:00 p.m. at Machpelah Cemetery in Lexington, MO.
