Mrs. Hattie Mae Moss, 80, widow of Ira C. Moss, Gapland, died at Washington County Hospital on Monday evening after a long illness. She was born in Broadrun, Frederick County, and was the daughter of the late James and Ida Reeder Cockran.

She had resided most of her life in the Gapland area and had been a resident of Fahrney Keedy Home for the past two years. She was a member of Brownsville Church of Brethren.

She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Pauline Flook, Frederick; Mrs. Elise Castle, Knoxville; Mrs. Mae Corder, Keedysville; Mrs. Mildred Thomas, Brunswick; Mrs. Erna Phillips, Boonsboro;Mrs. Betty Yinger, Frederick; three sons, Earl C. Moss, Sr., Middletown; Roy Moss, Rohersville; Floyd Moss, Jackson, Mich; 21 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Beulah Moss, Gapland; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held from Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro, on Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Albert Huston officiating with burial in Brownsville Cemetery. The family will meet friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9.
