Milton Henry Crawford, 93, Vermillion,
Kansas, died Saturday, April 16, 1994, at
the Frankfort Community Care Home.

He was born October 26, 1900, the son of
Virgil D. and Ella (Musgrave) Crawford.
He graduated from Vermillion High
School in 1919, and spent most of his life
east of Vermillion. He was a farmer and
stockman.

Mr. Crawford was instrumental in establish-
ing the Vermillion State Bank and was a
Director of the bank for many years. He
also was instrumental in establishing the
Upper Black Vermillion Watershed
District.

He was a member of the United Methodist
Church in Vermillion. He had been a
member of Vermillion Lodge No. 32
AF&AM, and received a 50 year pin. He
was a charter member and past president
of the Vermillion Lions Club.

He was married to Madeline Morton on
May 12, 1924, in Frankfort, Kansas.
She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Virgil
Crawford, Vermillion, Kansas; a daughter
Miriam Roberts, Pella, Iowa; 7 grand-
children, 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents;
one sister, Gracia Kimball; and grandson
David Crawford.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday,
April 19, 1994 at the Vermillion United
Methodist Church with Reverend Charles
Bernd officiating.

Organist Eunice Samuelson provided music
of "Amazing Grace" and "Just A Closer
Walk With Thee".

Pallbearers were John Bramhall, Bill
Bramhall, Keith Bramhall, Mike Bramhall,
John Harper and Bob Tyler.

Burial was in Vermillion Cemetery,
Vermillion, Kansas.
