Daughter of the late Thomas and Carmela Palmeggiano Salvatore Sr. (see records) she is survived by two brothers, retired Superior Court Judge Arthur A. Salvatore of Trenton and Thomas A. In actuality, Josephine V. Salvatore died in her beloved St. Joachim's Church, on Holy Thursday evening, as she knelt to pray in preparation for the evening service, the Evening Mass of the Lord's Supper. She was seen by those present to make the sign of the cross and then collapse.

At her Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joachim's Church the pastor The Rev. James Sauchelli reassured and comforted her family and friends in attendance by reminding them in his homily that: "She who sings, prays twice."
