US Congressman. A native of Muskingum County, Ohio, he was elected as a Republican to represent his state five times, serving from 1893 to 1905. He also was the president of the Citizens’ National Bank of Zanesville, Ohio from 1885 to 1893 and again in 1905 when he also became a member of the board of trustees of Marietta (Ohio) College.
