Carl was a son of Wilbert C. Stockum and Emma Viola Hahn. He graduated from Plainfield High School in 1933 and married Opal Green in 1935. He was a strip mine shovel operator and a welder in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
He had 3 sons; Richard, Larry and William Stockum.
All 3 sons graduated from the Ohio State University with Engineering Degrees. Larry died in Atlanta, Georgia in 2006 and linked below. His son William died in 2011 at his home in Lawrenceburg, Indiana and was cremated.
