Roland Baker was born in Dover, Ohio to Albert & Lydia (Schupp) Baker. He was in the US Army Enginners during World War II where he received a purple heart. He retired from the General Tire and Rubber Company in Newcomerstown. He was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans. He married the former Leona B. (Newell) Art and adopted three sons; Alvin, Ernest and Charles Art.
