Kay Conner of 356 Queen Street passed away Friday Oct. 28, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.

Kay was born on July 15, 1946 in Olean and was a daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Gleason Amore. On Sept. 15, 1977 in Portville she married James C. Conner, Sr. who survives.

Kay was a 1963 graduate of Allegany High School. She worked in the business office at the Olean Medical Group for 15 years in the 1990's. Kay worked at JC Penney Department Store as a clerk for about 10 years until May of 2011 when she stopped due to her illness. She was a member of the Olean Senior Lady's Coasters. Kay loved her family very much and enjoyed being with them and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling and her poodle Oliver Wendell.

Surviving Kay besides her husband of 34 years are a daughter, Amanda L. (Adam) Bleech of Fort Drum, NY; four step children, Jeffery P. Conner of Olean, Linda S. (Wayne) Nottingham of Olean, David J. (Christine) Conner of Allegany, and Jamie D. (Kimberly) Conner of Olean; several grandchildren; nieces & nephews; a brother, Edward (JoAnn) Amore of Erie, Pa.; and three sisters, Linda (Robert) McDonald of Allegany, Eva (David) Grandusky of Olean, and LuAnn (Jeffrey) Hensel of Allegany.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean, where a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 at 11:00 am. The Rev. Gregory J. Dobson, Pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Home Care & Hospice Care Net Work 1225 West State Street, Olean, New York 14760 or to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm & Carlton Streets, Buffalo, New York 14263.
