Ida was the daughter of Eliza Jane Eddy and her third husband, James A. Weatherwax. Ida was about 2-1/2 years old when her mother passed away. Apparently her father either could not or would not deal with tending to the needs of a toddler, so she was sent to live with her aunt and uncle, Otis and Betsey Ann (Eddy) Fuller, in Porter Twp., VanBuren Co., MI. (She was enumerated with that family in the 1880 Census.) Much of the history of her early life has been lost to the family. We only know that Ida married 1. Zachariah EISENHAUER (divorced before 1895), 2. William C. BLYTHE (divorced circa 1900) and 3. ? BRUCE. She never had children. Although her step-siblings certainly knew of her existence, the sheer physical distance between them precluded any real closeness. They were so far out of contact that when Ida died, her half brothers, Jasper Eddy (1857-1938) and Henry Weatherwax (1865-1941), were both listed as survivors although, by that time, Jasper had been dead for nine years and Henry for six. Ida left her small estate to a close lady friend and her minister's wife. Ida's other step-siblings were Mervin F. Eddy of Michigan (1850-1873), Wallace W. Eddy of Texas (c1864-c1898) and Mary Etta Eddy Woodson of Colorado (1859-1939).
