Joseph Hoover Clark, 80, of Dover, died Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Union Hospital.

He was born April 18, 1932 at Kensington, GA, the son of the late Charlie & Minnie Mercy Clark.

A hard working man his entire life, he was a retired employee of Republic Steel at Massillon.

"Hoover" was an Army veteran who honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a big sports fan and loved following the Cleveland Indians. He was also skilled in many ways and had a variety of interests including gardening, carpentry and cooking.

He is survived by: nine children, Joe (Casey) Clark of New Phila., Jeff Clark and his fiancé Janet Farrer of Dover, Justin Autrey of Midvale, Fred Shamburger of Massillon, Nikki Autrey of TN, Ebony Lofton of Massillon, Renee, Joe and Peaches Clark of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Joey, Mikilah, Idera, Darius, and Megan Clark, Tamera Enos, DeAndre, Daylen and Dante Clark, Isaac Autrey, Sharonna, Keyana and Anthony Autrey, along with a number of other loving grandchildren and 4 generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his first wife, Dorothy, and his second wife, Evelyn; three sisters, Vera Strong, Alice Coats and Eula Woods; five brothers, Ernest, Lawrence, Milton, Lewis and Mitchell Clark; and a son, Joe.

Joseph's nephew, Pastor Archie Jackson, will officiate a memorial service celebrating his life on Saturday, February 9, at 1:30 p.m. in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Friends may call one-hour prior to the ceremony.
