The remains of Thomas Hoffmaster, who died at his home near Weverton Thursday, were interred in the Brownsville cemetery, Sunday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. H.C. Erdman, pastor of the Lutheran Church at Burkittsville, of which the deceased was a member, assisted by Rev. J.T. Hart, of the Methodist church in Brunswick. There were held in the Dunkard church and this spacious edifice was filled to overflowing, many being unable to gain admittance. Rev. Erdman delivered an able and impressive sermon from the text, "Then cometh the end." Appropriate music was very effectively rendered by portions of the Lutheran and Methodist choirs of Knoxville, assisted by a number of members of the Dunkard Sunday school choir. C.H. Fete was funeral director. A large delegation of lodge members from Brunswick attended chiefly from the Jr. O.U.A.M. The pallbearers were: Thomas Callary, Frank Chambers, Edward Keyser, F. McBell, E.L. Eurey and John Shelton, all lodge members.

The deceased is survived by his wife and three children. He was 42 years, 5 months and 17 days of age. The esteem in which he was held by all who knew him was demonstrated by the immense concourse which attended his obsequies.
