Florina Carrie Glidden

Florina Carrie Glidden of Lompoc died February 17, 2013 at the age of 94.
Florina was born March 13, 1918 in Barre, Massachusetts to George and Margaret Marshall. She graduated from Barre High School in 1936 and completed her education to become a certified nurse's assistant.
Formerly of Lexington, Massachusetts she has been a resident of Lompoc since 1944. She was a member of La Purisima Catholic Church and a past regent of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was an avid knitter and seamstress. She enjoyed making quilts, designing and making clothing, tole painting and gardening. She loved sharing her many talents with her family and friends.
Florina is survived by her three daughters, Ruth (William) Schuyler, Margaret "Peggy" Howell and Elizabeth Berryhill all of Lompoc, her brother George Marshall of Barre, Massachusetts, eight grandchildren, David (Jeanne) Schuyler of Porterville, California, James (Cindy) Schuyler of Buckeye, Arizona, Donald (Lisa) Schuyler of Lompoc, Denise (Larson) Lincoln of Orville, California, Alvin (Brenda) Marks of Rosewell, New Mexico, Therese (Carl) Sager of Lompoc, Dawn (Carl) Milligan and Mindy Berryhill both of Maine, 20 great grandchildren 10 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Hartley Glidden in 1961.
The visitation will be Monday, February 25, from 8:30 to 9:30 at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Father Tom Cook will celebrate the mass of Christian burial on Monday at 10am at La Purisima Catholic Church followed by burial in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
We will miss her warm smile and words of wisdom. God is with her and she is precious in His sight.
