Chalmer E. Perdue
GLADSTONE, Ill. – Chalmer E. Perdue, 92, Gladstone, Rt. 1, died at 12:50 p.m. Monday, July 29, in Montebello Manor Nursing Home, Hamilton.
He was born Sept. 25, 1892, at Olena, to David and Lydia Burrell Perdue, he married Pearl Hunt, May 3, 1915 in Burlington, Iowa
Mr. Perdue lived in the Olena community for many years. He was a carpenter. He was a member of the Stronghurst United Methodist church.
Surviving: his wife; a son, Harry, Burlington; a daughter, Ilene Olson, Stronghurst; a sister, Veda Rankin, Monmouth; a half brother, Ray Prier, Whittier, Calif.; a half sister, Mary Jane Long, Burlington; four grandchildren and one great-granchildren.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Banks & Beals Funeral home, Stronghurst, the Rev. John Grimes and the Rev. Carroll Oschner; Olena cemetery. A memorial for the Stronghurst Ambulance Service has been established.
