(1922 - 1988)

Stanley (Tim) Bors, 66, of 1509 S. 36th Street, Manitowoc, died early Sunday morning, August 28, 1988 at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc, following a seven year courageous encounter with leukemia.

Funeral services will be 9:45 am Wednesday at Saur Funeral home, Kellnersville and 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic church, Manitowoc. Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate and burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Greenstreet. Military rites will be be accorded by Drews Bleser American Legion Post 88.

Mr. Bors was born August 26, 1922 at Gaastra, Michigan, son of the late John and Paula Bors. In his early years he was employed in coal mines in Michigan. He served with the United States Coast Guard from October, 1942 to March, 1946. He served overseas in the Asiatic Pacific area during World War II. Following his discharge he was employed at Manitowoc Shipyards and then moved to Chicago where he was a Baker at Burny Bros. Bakery, returning to Manitowoc ten years ago. He was then employed at Kelvinator Commercial Products. He married the formerly Emily Yindra on June 11, 1960. Mr. Bors was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc Senior Citizens and the Bakery and Confectionary Union Local No. 1.

Survivors include his wife, Emily; a step son and step daughter-0in-law, Gregory and Alicia Stanul of Ocala, Florida; a step-daughter and step son-in-law, JoAnn and David Sladkey of Saukville, Wisconsin; a brother, Frank Bors of Sturgeon Bay; a sister, Adeline Bors of Detroit, Michigan; five step grandchildren, Steve Holly, Sheila Free, Craig Sladkey, Greg Stanul Jr. and Duane Stanul; seven step great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Bors of Gaastra, Michigan, Anna Yindra of Francis Creek; nieces, nephews and special friends and very special neighbors, Llewellyn and LaVerne Mathy and Thomas and Susan Reif of Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joseph.

Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, 4 pm to 9 pm Tuesday and Wednesday to the time of services. Prayer service 7:30 pm Tuesday by Father Berryman.
