MARY CERNY
(1848 - 1941)

Mrs. Wencil Cherney, 95, a resident of the county for four score years, died yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anton Zeman, a mile north of Stangelville.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the Husar funeral home in Kellnersville and at 9:30 o'clock from the St. Joseph's Catholic church in the village. Interment will be in the Greenstreet cemetery.

Mrs. Cherney, nee Mary Riha, was born in Bohemia in 1848 and at the age of 15 years, came to this country with her parents. The family located in the northern part of the county. In 1870 she was married to Mr. Cherney and they located on a farm in Cooperstown.

Mr. Cherney died in 1906. Six years ago Mrs. Cherney moved to Kellnersville to reside with her daughter.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Zeman of Kellnersville; two sons, Emil of Cooperstown, Joseph of Chicago; 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The rosary will be recited at the funeral home Thursday evening at 8 o'clock. The body is now at the funeral home.
