PARIS GREEN TO END HER LIFE
Mrs. Doubeck, Aged Woman at Greenstreet, Thought to Have Been Insane
Unconscious and in dying condition, Mrs. Wenzel Doubeckk, an aged resident of Greenstreet, was found on the floor of her little home Thursday and a few hours later passed away as a result of poison which she had taken with intention of committing suicide. The discovery of the suicide was made by a granddaughter of the aged woman when she visited the home to assist Mrs. Doubeck and physicians who were summoned, worked for hours in a vain attempt to rescue her. Paris green was used by the woman, a large quantity of the poison having been taken.
Mrs. Doubeck, who was nearly 70 years of age and had resided in the county for many years, is believed to have been insane. For weeks she had exhibited weakness of the mind but there was no thought that she contemplated suicide. She made her home alone, though her son resided in the immediate vicinity and the family gave her every attention, visiting her daily and assisting her in the care of her home. Mrs. Doubeck was in apparent health but for peculiarity of her actions and advancing age as well.
She was twice married and is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Swetlick and several step grandchildren.
The funeral will be held from the home at Greenstreet Saturday morning.
No inquest was deemed necessary, the circumstances surrounding the death leaving no doubt that it was suicide and the mental condition of Mrs. Doubeck having been well known for some time past.
