John V. Armani, 96, 120 Freeman Ave., Solvay, died Tuesday at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
A native of Tyrol, Austria, Mr. Armani lived in Solvay 80 years. He retired from Allied Chemical Corp. and previously owned and operated a farm in Tully.
Mr. Armani was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church, Solvay, and a member of District 50 of the United Mine Workers Union. He also was a member of the Solvay Tyrol Club.
Surviving are a son, James of Solvay; two grandchildren, Miriam Franchini of Syracuse and Eugene Franchini of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Bagozzi Twins Funeral Home, Solvay, and 9 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners.
