"Margaret Ann Bain passed away on Thursday February 21, 2013 at the Little Sisters of the Poor. She was born January 6, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri. She attended St. Francis Grade School and graduated from Hogan High School. She married George Salmon with whom she had her only daughter, Georgeanne: both Georges were the loves of her life.
Margaret began working at Hallmark Cards and completed her career by retiring from government service at the Social Security Administration in 1993.
She volunteered at Immaculata Manor, a group home for mentally disabled women in Liberty, Missouri where she put on the annual Halloween party for the 'girls' with her daughter, Georgeanne and her nephew, Pat Quinn. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary and also worked in the thrift store there.
She is preceded in death by her parents Neal and Ruth Ferguson, husband George, daughter Georgeanne, sister Ellen Jane Quinn and brother Thomas Ferguson.
She is survived by her brother William Ferguson, her sisters Bettye Gotschall and Martha Frey as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 9:30 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am on Saturday March 2 at the Little Sisters of the Poor's Jeanne Jugan Center, 8745 James A Reed Road, Kansas City, Missouri. A reception will be held after mass. In lieu of flowers: contributions to Little Sisters of the Poor, Jeanne Jugan Center."
