A terrible accident occurred Fri. in Town Newton. Farmer Andreas Fracina(sic)
was working in his barn that day cutting chaff when his 9-yr. old daughter
Gertrude approached the machine. Her clothing caught in the gears and before
the machine could be brought to a stop, she was already dead. The funeral
of the poor child took place Sun. at the Catholic Cemetery in Newton.
