Zins, Rosemary

Rosemary Alice Tatge was born November 1, 1955 in Benson, MN, the daughter of Edwin and Alice (Swingseth) Tatge. She grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson High School in 1973. In 1974 she studied clerical work and keypunch operating at Alexandria Technical School.

Rosemary was blessed with five children, Barry, Lindsay, Jason, Amanda and Kelly. In the mid 1980's she began working at Del Monico's Cafe in Benson. In 1986 she and her family moved to Alexandria where she worked at the Rainbow Court until 1992. In 1991 Rosemary was united in marriage to Clifford Zins in Alexandria. In 1992 Rosemary received her nursing degree from Alexandria Technical College. She worked as a home health nurse, specializing in mentally challenged adult care. Rosemary retired from nursing in 2005.

Rosemary enjoyed driving tractors restored by Clifford in parades around the area. She and Clifford liked going to auctions and Rosemary could never pass up a garage sale. She enjoyed collecting unique antiques and family heirlooms. Rosemary also loved to cook. She knew how to cook from scratch and enjoyed baking bread and pies and canning foods from her garden. She also enjoyed her two Scottish terriers, Molly & Macy.

Rosemary was a very giving person; over the last three years she has worked tirelessly to provide hand embroidered quilts to as many of her family, friends and acquaintances as she possibly could. She loved spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren. Time spent with her grandchildren teaching them to bake, cook, garden or just playing was fun for everyone involved.

On Friday, November 7, 2008 Rosemary died at the age of fifty-three years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Tatge and one daughter, Kelly Nicole Gades.

Rosemary is survived by her husband, Clifford Zins of Alexandria; her mother, Alice Tatge of Benson; four children, Barry Gades of Alexandria, Lindsay Berger of Alexandria, Jason Gades and wife, Jennifer, of Clearwater, MN, and Amanda Gades of Moorhead, MN; grandchildren Kaley Gades, Austin Gades, Courtney Gades, Alexis Berger and Kierra Berger; four brothers, Bob Tatge of Spicer, MN, Don Tatge and wife, Connie, of Black River Falls, WI, Wayne Tatge and wife, Julie, of Young America, MN, and Kevin Tatge and wife, Debbie, of Chaska, MN; one sister, Carol Skundberg, and husband, Arvid, of Benson, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
