OBITUARY:

CEDAR FALLS - Services for Shirley J. Hovar, 54, of 3403 Round St., will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Timothy's United Methodist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories.
Mrs. Hovar died Saturday morning of cancer at Schoitz Medical Center.
She was born July 7, 1930, in Waterloo, the daughter of John E. and Adella Grant Stevens. She married Anton Hovar Jr. Sept. 28, 1947, in Waterloo.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Timothy, Thomas, Wayne and Matthew, all of Cedar Falls, and Anton III of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; two daughters, Christine Moothart of Waterloo anmd [sic.] Cathleen McCraney of Evansdale; three brothers, John Stevens of Waterloo, Francis Stevens of Cedar Falls and Terry Stevens of Marshalltown; two sisters, Grace Stanton of Waterloo and Iris Jacobs of Cedar Falls and five grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and until 11 a.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the church or to the American Cancer Society.
