She had lived in Canton since 1947, when she began teaching French at the Canton branch of Kent State University. She began teaching at McKinley High School in 1950, where she remained until her retirement in 1976. She graduated from Heidelberg College and received a master's degree from Columbia University. She was honored as Stark County High School Teacher of the Year in 1960 by Kappa Delta Pi, an educational honorary society. She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, Stark County Retired Teachers' Association, Canton Professional Educators' Association, East Central Ohio Teachers' Association, Ohio Education Association, National Education Association, Stark County Lebanese-American Club, and the Stark County Arab-American Association. She was a founder of the French Club, an association of area French speakers and educators.
