Sylvia Faust, 88, of Boone passed away at Westhaven Community in Boone on Tuesday morning, February 21, 2012 where she had resided since October 2007.
She was born on September 27, 1923 in Brookings County, South Dakota the daughter of Thomas and Emma (Wold) Christianson.
On January 11, 1947, she married Charles J. Faust at Nevada, Iowa.
Sylvia graduated from Sheldahl High School. Following graduation, she worked at the Ordinance Plant in Ankeny, Iowa. She worked at the Department of Transportation in Ames until her retirement. Sylvia enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and doing crossword puzzles.
She was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church.
Her parents; husband Charles in 1988; 4 brothers, Jonas Christianson, Bennett Christianson, Chester Christianson and Vernon Christianson; and 1 sister Elgena Peterson preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter Barbara Sparks and husband Alan of Boone; 2 sons Daryl Faust and wife Joan of Boone and Paul Faust and wife Tracy of Boone; 5 grandchildren Corey Faust and wife Nicole of Mankato, Minnesota, Michael Faust and wife Alison of Houston, Texas, Megan Faust of Des Moines, Iowa, Jill Smith and husband Levi of Houston, Texas and Jamie Faust of Boone; and 4 great-grandchildren Jackson Faust and Hayden Faust both of Mankato, Minnesota, Maddilyn Smith of Houston, Texas and Will Faust of Houston, Texas.
Services will be held on Monday morning, February 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone with Pastor Dan Solomon officiating.
Interment will be in the Sheldahl Cemetery in Sheldahl, Iowa.
Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone on Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to greet friends. Visitations will continue at the Church on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
