Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 12, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 23rd & Madison; burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 11; Wake Service will be 7 p.m. at McGilley Midtown Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
Mrs. Alvarez was born January 18, 1922, in Strong, TX, and lived in the Kansas City area since 1925. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe. She was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Alvarez, in 1981. She is survived by six sons, Lawrence E. Alvarez, Fenton, MO; Vincent P. Alvarez, Julian M. Alvarez, Joseph M. Alvarez, and John R. Alvarez, all of Kansas City , MO, and Anthony F. Alvarez, Lee's Summit; daughter, Mary E. Alejandre, of the home; two brothers, Cirilo Medina, Kansas City , MO, and Leocadio Medina, Tuscon, AZ; two sisters, Nettie Alvarado, Kansas City, MO, and Felicia Nimmo, Independence, MO; 17 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother and will be missed by her family and friends."
