Rocco V. D'Esopo, 84, of Glastonbury died Wednesday (Jan. 14, 1998) at Hartford Hospital. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Emma ''Kay'' (Beaudry) D'Esopo. He was born in Hartford son of the late Rocco and Mary D'Esopo and lived in the Hartford area for all of his life. Rocco graduated Weaver High School and began his career in retail furniture sales. He was employed by Puritan Furniture for several years before his retirement. It was his love of music that brought his resonant baritone voice to a variety of performing arenas during his life in the earlier years. He was a member of the Connecticut Opera Assoc., and during the 1940's performed in various Hartford night clubs as a soloist and in Florida clubs as a duo with his wife, Kay. In his later years, he was a soloist, cantor and choir member at St. Augustine's Church in South Glastonbury. Rocco received commendations for participation in a statewide Senior Talent Show. He served on the Commission on Aging in Glastonbury. Rocco is survived by his sister Angelina Hyde of Clinton, his sister-in-law, Beatrice Ferari of Glastonbury and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Monday 9 a.m. at the D'Esopo East Hartford Funeral Chapel, 30 Carter St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church, So. Glastonbury. Burial in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery.
