John Joseph Arkenau, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital. He was the only son of Clem and Louise F. (Goedeker) Arkenau and the dear husband of Mary Lou (Burkhardt) Arkenau. They were married fifty years.
He retired from Electrical Workers Union Local 369 and was a member of Incarnation Catholic Church where he was a member of the Senior Club. He was also a member of St. Joseph Orphanage Society and was an avid UK fan. He is survived by his wife and many other family and friends.
Funeral Mass was held at Incarnation Catholic Church, followed by entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Heady-Hardy Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Joseph Orphanage or WHAS Crusade for Children.
