FRANCIS MELLA

Francis Mella, 69, of Newton, died Sunday afternoon at the Holy Family
hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Casimer's Catholic
church, Newton, with burial in the church cemetery.
He was born in Newton in 1878 and was employed in Sheboygan and Two Rivers
before purchasing a farm in Newton 40 years ago. His wife, the former Mathilda
Ziarnik, died three years ago. He was a member of the Holy Name society.
He is survived by a son, Leonard on the home farm; seven daughters, Mrs.
Stanley Tadych, Mrs. Fred Bast, Cecelia, Agnes and Phyllis, all of this city;
Mrs. Wilbert Mallmann of Evanston, and Rita of Newton; two brothers Joseph of
Newton (#105838906) and Laudie of Sheboygan (#105839154); three sisters, Mrs. Andrew Daron and Mrs.
Stephen Zandela of this city and Mrs. Joseph Zik of Two Creeks; and seven
grandchildren.
The body will be moved to the Mella home in Newton Tuesday afternoon from
the Leschke funeral home where it may be viewed. The rosary will be recited
at 8 o'clock Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
