JOSEPH MELLA

Funeral services for Joseph Mella, 81, retired Newton farmer, who died
Friday morning at the home following a lingering illness were held at
9 a.m. Tuesday at the Leschke Funeral home, Manitowoc and at 9:30 a.m.
at St. Casmir (sic) Catholic Church, Newton.
The Rev. L. L. Lisowski, was celebrant at the solemn requiem high mass
and assisting priests were the Rev. Anthony L. Betley, former pastor of
St. Casimirs, now of Suamico, deacon and the Rev. Edward Nowadowski,
Manitowoc, sub-deacon.
Burial was made in the adjoining church cemetery.
Mr. Mella was born in Newton April 10, 1871, and married Marcella Bialkowski
of Newton, April 10, 1907.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Florian and Frank of Newton; brother,
Wlady, of Sheboygan (Laudi #105839154); three sisters, Mrs. Andrew Daron and Mrs. Stephen Zandala
of Manitowoc; and Mrs. Joseph Zik of Two Creeks; and four grandchildren..
Pallbearers were six nephews, Erwin Keilbasa, Milwaukee; Rephael Zik, Harry
Zik and Florian Zik, Edward Daron and Leonard Mella.
