Mrs. Joseph Mella, 68 of Rt. 3, Manitowoc, died Monday morning at the farm
home following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Leschke-Bergner Funeral
Home ,Manitowoc and at 10 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Northeim. The
Rev. L. Lisowski will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Mella, the former Marcella Balkowski, was born Jan. 17, 1887, in Poland,
and came to the United States when 21. She was married July 17, 1907, to Mr.
Mella who died two years ago. Mrs. Mella was a member of the Rosary Society
of the parish.
She is survived by two sons, Florian and Frank of Rt. 3, Manitowoc; a brother,
Theodore Balkowski of Two Rivers; a sister, Mrs. Andrew Kielbasa of Milwaukee
and six grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening where the Rosary will be
recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday by the Rosary Society and at 8 p.m. Wednesday by the
parish.
