MRS. MELLA, 85, GETS SUMMONS
Resident of County 65 Years Dies At Newton Home
Mrs. Frank Mella, 85, Route 3, Newton, passed away this morning at her
home. Death was attributed to infirmities of old age. Funeral services
will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 from the St. Casimir Catholic
church of Newton. Burial will be made in the St. Casimir cemetery.
The deceased, nee Stephemak, was born in Poland in November, 1848. She
came to this country and settled in Manitowoc county at the age of 20.
She has resided at her present home for the past 46 years. Her husband
preceded her in death. She was a member of the Rosary society.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Andrew Daron of Newton, Mrs. Steve
Zendala of Manitowoc and Mrs. Joseph Zych of Two Creeks; three sons,
Joseph of Newton, Wlady of Sheboygan and Frank of Newton; a brother,
Walter Stephemak of Two Rivers; and 29 grandchildren and 5 great-grand-
children.
The body will be removed to the home Tuesday afternoon from the Leschke
funeral home.

Mother of Local Man Passes Away In Town of Newton
Mrs. Frank Mella, 85 years old, mother of Larry Mella of Sheboygan, passed
away late Sunday afternoon at the family homestead in the town of Newton,
Manitowoc county. Funeral services will be held at the home next Thursday.
Besides the son here, the survivors are two more sons, Joe and Frank of
Newton; three daughters, Mrs. Andrew Daron of Newton, Mrs. Steve Zendela
of Manitowoc, and Mrs. Joseph Zych of Two Creeks; 29 grandchildren, and
five great-grandchildren.
