Thomas Petska of Rosecrans, aged 60, who died of heart disease, was buried at Green Street Saturday.
Mr. Petska, who was a blacksmith by trade for many years, had lately retired, his son succeeding him in his work. He was never sick and being a rugged man his death was a great shock. While on his way from the shop to the house, he got as far as the doorway, when he fell over, death being instantaneous.
He was well known in this town and his death is an affliction to many.

COOPERSTOWN MAN VICTIM OF HEART ATTACK
Thomas Petska (sic), Village Smithy, Dies Suddenly at Rosecrans
Thomas Petcka (sic), well known resident of Cooperstown where for years he had been engaged in conducting a blacksmith shop, died suddenly from heart trouble, super induced by pleurisy. Mr. Petcka's death occurred almost without a moment's warning.
Mr. Petcka was a native of Germany and was 60 years of age. He came to America as a boy and located in Manitowoc county years ago, being married in 1882 to Anna Kafka, the widow who with seven children survive him. The couple located at Rosecrans where Mr. Petcka has conducted a blacksmith shop ever since.
Children surviving Mr. Petcka are Emil, Edward, James, Joseph, Alvina, Helen and Mrs. Schneider. Six brothers and four sisters also survive.
The funeral was held at St. Wencel's church and was largely attended.
